Audio innovator Altec Lansing launched its new iMW455, "The Jacket" wireless Bluetooth speaker today. The Jacket allows listeners to customize the device with a range of colorful skins making the iMW455 blend in with any decor, or stand out, with its smart look as well as its legendary Altec sound quality.
The iMW455 pairs quickly with and remembers up to 8 separate devices, making it easy to switch audio sources between any Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, computer, iPod, tablet or other source. The Jacket automatically re-connects with the last paired device as soon as it comes within the speaker's extended 30-foot range, with no user effort required. On-board buttons let users pause, play and control the volume directly, as well as accept or reject incoming calls when paired with a smartphone. A 3.5 mm stereo auxiliary port also provides wired connectivity.
Designed for ultimate portability, The Jacket is completely wireless, delivering crystal clear sound quality for up to 8 hours on a single charge. A 9V AC charger/adapter is included for extended use. Weighing only one pound with a compact footprint of just 2 " x 6 ", The Jacket slips easily into a purse, backpack or briefcase without adding bulk or weighing you down.
A voice confirmation feature also makes operating The Jacket even easiereliminating the confusion often experienced with Bluetooth pairing. The device speaks an audible confirmation letting the user know when the device is "powered on," "in paring mode," "paired" and "powered down."
